HOW TO ENROL
Please register your interest using the Enquire about this course link. We will then arrange for you to discuss your previous experience with one of our lecturers to ensure that the course meets your needs prior to enrolment.
This course is aimed at those employed in the electrical industry or those who intend to enter the industry. It is also suitable for applicants who are considering a career change.
Sessions are led by tutors from the industry with vast experience across the electro-technical field.
The programme consists of 4 online theory and 2 practical assessments related to the qualification units.
Please note: This qualification does not make candidates fully qualified electricians. Additional training will be required.
What you'll learn
This course allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the electrotechnical sector. You’ll cover the following:
- Health and Safety in Building Services Engineering
- Principles of Electrical Science
- Electrical Installations Technology
- Installation of wiring systems and enclosures
- Understanding how to communicate with others within building services engineering
How you'll learn and be assessed
There will be a practical portfolio, that will be developed during the course, as well as online and in-class exams.
Progression
On successful completion of this course, you could progress to a L3 Electrical Installations Diploma.
With employment, there is the potential of an NVQ and AM2 test towards full qualification. You might also consider an apprenticeship.
Entry requirements
You will need 4 GCSEs at grades 3 or above including English language and maths, or achievement on a relevant Level 1 course plus GCSE English language and maths at grade 4.
Additional information
You will need to purchase/provide IEE On-Site Guide, steel capped footwear, study equipment such as pens, paper and scientific calculator.
